Mihai Toma
Postdoctoral Researcher
Mihai Toma is an associated Lecturer at the Bucharest University of Economic Studies, Faculty of Business Administration in Foreign Languages (FABIZ). Mihai will be teaching Economics of Information, AI Strategy and Digital Transformation, and Strategy and Smart Data in Arts, Culture, and Society. He has more than ten years of experience in research and industry. He has a strong background in fintech, having worked at Finastra in financial engineering, and served as an economist at the National Bank of Romania within the financial stability department. Mihai holds a PhD in Finance since 2018, and was a Fulbright Scholar and postdoctoral researcher at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) for 2.5 years. His research spans financial markets, behavioral finance, AI and neurofinance. He developed the first series of neurofinance experiments in Romania in 2017
Mike Franz Wahl
Professor at TalTech
Mike Wahl is an associate professor in the field of general management. He defended his PhD at Tallinn University of Technology in 2011, and teaches Management, and Strategic Management at all levels of higher education. Since 2018, he has additionally the qualification of an International Engineering Educator. His research work is focused on ownership strategies and values, part of research is carried together with students: one graduated PhD student, and 66 master students. Mike has extensive experience in the hospitality sector for 19 years and additionally in retailing as a Production and Wholesale director for 7 years.
Marius Matei
Associate Professor at FABIZ
Marius Matei is Associate Professor at the Faculty of Business Administration in Foreign Languages (FABIZ), Bucharest University of Economic Studies (ASE), researcher, econometrician and high frequency data specialist, with publications in leading academic journals. His experience covers a broad range of fields, from central banking gained as Principal Economist in the Systemic Risk Monitoring Division, Financial Stability Department of the National Bank of Romania, to investments as Senior Quantitative Analyst (Asset Allocation) in the Investments Department of a superannuation fund (Mine Super) in Australia. He also worked as Senior Economist of UniCredit Bank (Romania) and as Senior Economist in the Government of New South Wales (Australia). Marius is member of the Editorial Board of Open Economics journal, Journal of Risk and Financial Management, and Romanian Journal of Economic Forecasting. He also served as reviewer for the Journal of Empirical Finance, European Journal of Operational Research, Computational Management Science, Australian Journal of the Agricultural and Resource Economics, Journal of Contemporary Accounting and Economics, and Romanian Journal of Economic Forecasting. He holds a PhD in Financial Econometrics (ESADE Business School, Spain) and a PhD in Economics (Romanian Academy), with postdoctoral studies at the University of Tasmania (Australia) and the Romanian Academy. He also graduated a Master in Economics (Carleton University, Canada), a Master of Research in Finance (ESADE Business School, Spain) and a Master in International Relations and European Integration (SNSPA). He was visiting scholar at Stanford University (USA) and Aarhus University (CREATES) (Denmark). He attended summer schools at the Oxford University, Nova School of Business, and Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien. He also has a Certificate in Programming (TAFE NSW, Australia), in Business Administration (ESSCA, France), and tutoring (University of New South Wales, Australia).
Mădălina Meghișan
Full Professor
Madalina Meghisan Toma is Full Professor PhD at the Bucharest University of Economic Studies and Scientific Researcher III at the Romanian Academy, National Institute of Economic Research ”Costin C. Kiritescu”. She is the author of more than 20 articles in international data base journals and she published several books in Marketing and Management. She was awarded the Third Prize for Economics Literature in the field of Commerce-Tourism by AFER (Association of Economic Faculties from Romania), for the book entitled “Strategies on the mobile telecommunications market from Romania”, Shaker Verlag Publishing House, Aachen, Germany (2012).
